Five charged with drug offenses in separate cases
While taking care of a 5-year-old child, Sherri Lynn Dunlap, 54, sold $100 worth of cocaine to an informant right in front of the juvenile at Dunlap's home at 657 Campbell St., apartment 4, on May 24, a detective with the county's Narcotics Enforcement Unit alleged in court papers filed at Biichle's office. Investigators allege Dunlap also took in another cocaine sale with an informant, this one occurred in the 1600 block of Catherine Street on March 8, an affidavit stated. Arraigned on Tuesday before District Judge Aaron Biichle on two felony counts each of delivery of a controlled substance and illegal use of a cellphone, one felony count of conspiracy and one misdemeanor count of corrupting the morals of a minor, Dunlap was released on $75,000 bail.
In another case, convicted drug dealer Daniel Kim Snyder faces a new set of charges after the Lycoming Regional police seized a large quantity of marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms from his Lycoming Township home at 147 Mill Hill Road when they executed a search warrant there on Sept. 14, according to an affidavit. Much of the marijuana was found in four large containers and several mason jars, police said, adding that they also seized 99 pre-packaged bags of suspected "edibles," candy infused with marijuana, three large marijuana plants, an assortment of drug paraphernalia and $4,000 in cash. Following his arraignment Wednesday before District Judge William Solomon on two counts each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, Snyder, 52, was released on $15,000 bail.
In another case involving the narcotics unit, Mark A. Walker, 51, of 1145 Chester St., faces four counts of delivery of a controlled substance and one count of illegal use of a cellphone for his alleged involvement in selling crack cocaine to an informant on four occasions at various locations in the city between March 21 and June 19, according to court records. Following his arraignment before Biichle last week before Biichle, Walker was released on $50,000 bail
In another drug case, the state Game Commission has charged Dominic Scott Martin, 21, of 85 Clinton Drive, Montgomery, with diverting medical marijuana to a person who was not lawfully permitted to receive it and possession of drug paraphernalia following an incident on state game lands in Brady Township on Sept. 1, according to court records at the office of District Judge Kirsten Gardner. Martin has since waived his preliminary hearing and is free on $10,000 bail.
In another case, Alex Dejesus, 44, of 19 Roseville Road, has been charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia for having two bags and a plastic container all containing suspected methamphetamine in the 400 block of Little League Boulevard on Sept. 28, city police alleged in an affidavit. Following his arraignment Thursday before Biichle, Dejesus was released on $50,000 bail.
Man jailed after allegedly threatening case worker with pellet gun
Nathan Attison Riley, 31, of 803 Hepburn St., has been locked up on charges that he allegedly threatened a county Children and Youth caseworker with a pellet gun at 427 Louisa St. about 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 27, city police said. Believing what Riley had in his hand was a handgun, the alarmed woman drove away and called 911, court records stated. Charged with aggravated and simple assault, terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of crime and disorderly conduct, Riley was held for court on all offenses following his preliminary hearing Thursday before Biichle and remains jailed in the county prison in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Convicted felon faces new charges
Three-time convicted felon Rashaun Fleming, who turns 35 today, of 507 W. Southern Ave., apartment 2, South Williamsport, has been arrested on two counts of illegal possession of a handgun after two firearms were discovered in a backpack in a storage unit that he rented at U-Haul Moving and Storage, 238 Penn St., in the city early last month, according to court records filed by the county's Narcotics Enforcement Unit. The discovery was made on Sept. 7 when detectives executed a search warrant. It turned out one of the guns was stolen in 2011 from Centre County, court records stated.
Convicted in 2007 and again last year of participating in illegal drug distribution, plus a 2012 robbery conviction, Fleming, who faces an additional felony charge of receiving stolen property, waived his preliminary hearing this week before Biichle and remains locked up in lieu of $85,000 bail.
Intoxicated man allegedly kicked city officer twice
Frederick Roy Foster III, 37, of 1029 Tucker St,, has been arrested on charges of felony aggravated assault, resisting arrest and public drunkenness following a disturbance in the parking lot of Wegmans, 201 William St., in which he kicked a city police officer twice in the right thigh about 10:45 p.m. on Aug. 24, it was alleged in an affidavit. While in an intoxicated state, Foster was "wandering the lot, looking for his vehicle, police said. Store personnel called police due to his intoxicated state.
When approached by an officer, Foster refused to identify himself and began to walk away, the affidavit stated. He became unruly, assaulting the officer when the officer tried to take him into custody for public drunkenness, court records stated. Multiple officers were needed to restrain him, police said. He has since waived his preliminary hearing before Biichle and is free on bail.
City woman allegedly causes extensive damage to car with baseball bat
Upon getting out of a SUV with a baseball bat in the 1200 block of Franklin Street about 6 p.m. on Aug. 25, Keri Lynne Clemens began swinging at Judy McMullen's Subaru Legacy, breaking both the front windshield and back window, city police alleged in an affidavit. Before fleeing the scene, the 35-year-old Clemens allegedly "struck several areas" of the Legacy, causing in excess of $5,000 damage, police said. McMullen witnessed the vandalism outside her home, court records stated. Shortly before this happened, Clemens, of 609 Sheridan St., allegedly sent several threatening text messages to McMullen, including one that read: "I'm coming," and "Now watch this," the affidavit stated. Following her arraignment Monday before District Judge Kirsten Gardner on charges of felony criminal mischief and disorderly conduct, Clemens was released on $15,000 bail.
State police charge woman with prostitution and drug offenses
Brittany Lee Shope, 28, has been jailed on charges of prostitution, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia after she arranged with a undercover state trooper to perform a variety of sexual acts for him in exchange for $100 in the city on June 29, it was alleged in court records. She met with the trooper and got in his vehicle in the 200 block of Campbell Street, where she was living at the time, the affidavit stated. The two drove around the corner where Shope stated she had four ecstasy pills in her purse and was selling them for $20, police said. Following her recent arraignment before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, Shope, now living in Cogan Station, was jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.
