Kurt Dangle, 59, of 1685 Rose Valley Road, Cogan Station, was arrested by state police after he crashed his 1999 Mercury Villager on Oakes Avenue in Loyalsock Township just before 11 p.m. on Oct. 15.
Upon arrival by police, Dangle was in the vehicle, revving his engine, seemingly in an attempt to leave the scene, according to court documents.
Dangle had a strong odor of alcohol, an affidavit said, and police observed a Natty Daddy alcoholic beverage on the front passenger-side floor, and an open Yuengling, along with a six pack behind the passenger seat.
Dangle admitted to having consumed alcohol throughout the day, stating that he was attempting to make it home from South Williamsport, but could not recall exactly where he was coming from.
After failing a partial field sobriety test, Dangle became uncooperative, relating that he would only sign a consent for lab work after becoming "more sober," police allege.
He was charged with DUI, two summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, state police stopped Rylan Hicks, 25, of 1343 Foust Hill Road, Hughesville, at 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 30, after they observed his 2013 Honda Fit cross over the fog line, entering the shoulder of the roadway along I-180 East just before the Faxon exit in the city.
Hicks had had an odor of alcohol and glassy, bloodshot eyes, police allege.
Hicks stated that he was coming from Bullfrog Brewery, and admitted to having consumed "a few" alcoholic beverages before driving, according to an affidavit.
Hicks failed a field sobriety test, and had a BAC of .09.
He was charged with DUI, two summary offenses, waived his preliminary hearing and was released on $5,000 bail.
At 2:15 a.m. on Sept. 1, city police arrested Caitlyn Kiessling, 31, of 1710 Loyalsock Drive, Apt. 1, after she crashed her 2014 Nissan Versa in the 100 block of Grampian Boulevard.
A passenger in the vehicle was unconscious and bleeding heavily as he was tended to by EMS upon police arrival, court documents said.
Kiessling had an odor of alcohol, slurred speech and glossy, bloodshot eyes, and was crying hysterically while apologizing for the accident, police allege.
She stated that she and her boyfriend were coming from a friend's house, at which she had been consuming alcohol.
Kiessling had a BAC of .21.
She was charged with DUI, recklessly endangering another person, waived her preliminary hearing and was released on $5,000 bail.
In another case, Jacoby Benway, 19, of 715 W. Southern Ave., South Williamsport, was stopped by state police after they observed a registration light on his 2008 Dodge Caliber to be inoperable along East Third Street in the city at 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 11.
Additionally, a check on the vehicle's registration revealed Benway's license to be under suspension, according to court documents.
Benway had an odor of marijuana, and during questioning, stated that he had smoked marijuana "yesterday," police allege.
He failed a field sobriety test and refused lab work.
He was charged with DUI, three summary offenses and was released on $5,000 bail.
State police stopped Shannon McBryan, 39, of 1115 W. Mountain Ave., South Williamsport, along I-180 West, just passed the Faxon exit, after observing her 2014 Kia Sorento cross over the fog line onto the shoulder of the road at 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 27.
McBryan had an odor of alcohol, glassy, bloodshot eyes, and provided police with a driver's license that had expired in January, which she acknowledged, according to an affidavit.
She stated she was coming from The Locker Room, which she owns.
McBryan failed a field sobriety test and had a BAC of .18.
She was charged with DUI, three summary offenses, waived her preliminary hearing and was released on $5,000 bail.
