Husband and wife both arrested following domestic disturbance

While Robert Montgomey held a 1-year-old child in his arms, his wife, Brittany Lee Montgomery, lunged at him multiple times with a knife during a disturbance Saturday morning in the couple's home at 524 Wyoming St., city police alleged in an affidavit. "You're (expletive) done. I'll (expletive) kill you. I'll slice your (expletive) throat," the woman told Montgomery, who, instead of walking away from his wife, "continued to instigate and argue with her," police alleged. The father failed to "seek safety for the child," police said.

Robert Montgomery videoed the entire incident and freely showed it to an officer, police said. Brittany Montgmery, 31, and her 39-year-old husband have each been charged with recklessly endangering another person and endangering the welfare of a child. Both Brittany Montgomery, who faces an additional one felony count of aggravated assault, and her husband were arraigned before District Judge Kirsten Gardner. Brittany remains jailed in the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $75,000 bail while her husband is free on $50,000 bail.

Second person charged in shoplifting case involving two businesses

Brian Keith Hoy, 49, of 562 Pepper St., Muncy, has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of shoplifting and one count of receiving stolen property for stealing about $112 worth of merchandise from Cole's Hardware on Muncy Creek Boulevard in Muncy Creek Township on Oct. 15 and $32 worth of merchandise from the nearby Weis Market, also on Muncy Creek Boulevard on Oct. 22, state police alleged in an affidavit. Arraigned before Gardner, Hoy has waived his preliminary hearing and is free on $10,000 bail. Co-defendant Samantha Parson, his 32-year-old fiance of the same address, has already been charged and is free on bail.

Nisbet man faces charges following incident with ex-girlfriend in car

On the afternoon of Oct. 16, while driving a car in the city with his ex-girlfriend and the couple's infant son in the vehicle, Blayze P. Kline wanted to look through the woman's cellphone, but she refused to give it to him, making him angry, according to a city police affidavit.

"After threatening to crash the vehicle, Kline recklessly accelerated the vehicle in traffic," police said in the court document. Minutes later, he made the same threat in the 1400 block of High Street, but this time he deliberately "positioned the passenger side of the car, where the woman was sitting, on a collision course with a parked vehicle, swerving (at the last second) to avoid hitting the vehicle," police said.

Charged with two counts of recklessly endangering another person, Kline, 21, of 262 Hillside Drive, Nisbet, failed to appear for his preliminary hearing last week before District Judge Christian Frey so a bench warrant for his arrest was expected to be filed.

Two face drug charges in separate cases

Jason Earl Morris, 39, of 152 Boak Ave., lot 72, Hughesville, has been charged with two counts each of delivery of a controlled substance and illegal use of a communication device for selling methamphetamine to an informant on two occasions -- first on Boak Avenue in Wolf Township on June 28 and again on West Academy Street in Hughesville on Aug. 7, investigators with the county's Narcotics Enforcement Unit alleged in court papers. Following his arraignment before Gardner, Morris was released on $50,000 bail. He has since waived his preliminary hearing.

In another case, Mubarik Graves, 32, of 218 W. Bald Eagle St., Lock Haven, has been arrested on charges of delivery of a controlled substance, illegal use of a communication device and attempted delivery of a controlled substance. The charges stem from his alleged involvement first in the sale of two grams of cocaine to an informant in the 200 block of North Broad Street in Jersey Shore on July 20 and then a subsequent potential second sale of cocaine at the same location on Aug. 4, according to state police. The second sale was not completed, police said. Following his arraignment last week before Gardner, Graves was incarcerated in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Woman arrested after allegedly threatening another with a crowbar

Jessica James, 36, of 820 Hepburn St., has been jailed on charges of threatening to kill another woman with a crowbar during a domestic disturbance outside James' home about 2 p.m. on Jan. 14, city police alleged in a court document.

The alleged victim is the paternal grandmother of James' two children, police said, adding that 90 minutes earlier, the county's Children and Youth agency had taken protective custody of the two minors under court order. The county agency got involved following a domestic disturbance in which James and a man "were using methamphetamine" hours earlier, it was alleged in an affidavit.

Police said James was apparently upset with the children's paternal grandmother, whom she blamed for losing custody of the children. James lived with the grandmother, who told her that she "needed to leave and get a hotel room," police said. Following her arraignment before District Judge William Solomon on charges of terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of crime and simple assault, James was jailed in lieu of $25,000 bail.
