ID of motorcyclist killed in Route 15 accident released

A man from Painted Post, New York, was identified as the motorcyclist killed Friday on Route 15 south of South Williamsport in Clinton Township, according to state police investigators.

David M. Nangle, 74, succumbed to injuries in the 10:50 a.m. crash. He tried to negotiate a right curve in the road and lost control. He was wearing a helmet but was found down an embankment. The bike, several times, struck the concrete barrier separating north and south lanes.

He was part of a group riding to a Memorial Day event in the Washington, D.C. area, according to township Fire Chief Todd Winder. Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. arrived to make pronouncement of the body and to contact the next of kin.
