An employee at Wirerope Works Inc., 100 Maynard St., was recovering from injuries he suffered Monday morning when his right hand and arm became entangled in a piece of machinery, according to city firefighters.

Dispatched to the plant about 9 a.m., firefighters worked for nearly 30 minutes to free the employee’s arm.

The employee, whose name was not released, was taken by ambulance to UPMC Williamsport to get medical treatment.
