Ashler Manor resident held on two charges while judge throws out a third

MUNCY — Following a preliminary hearing before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, Amahle Gaffga, an 18-year-old resident of the Ashler Manor juvenile residential facility at 174 Ashler Manor Drive, was held for court on Muncy Township police charges of corrupting the morals of a minor and disorderly conduct that stemmed from her allegedly causing a disturbance at the facility on April 10 and again April 11.
In the first incident, police said that in addition to causing a disturbance, Gaffga is alleged to have sold drug paraphernalia to other residents, it was stated in an affidavit. On the following day, Gaffga lunged at a staff member, kicked a window and chair as well as threw property inside the building, police alleged.
The teen also was accused of making threatening remarks to other juveniles, but at the hearing, Gardner tossed out a misdemeanor charge of terroristic threats due to insufficient evidence.
Initially jailed in the Lycoming County Prison, Gaffga has since been released on $15,000 bail.
