Assault, failure to register among charges filed in Lycoming County district courts

Game commission lodges charges against teenager

While driving a pickup truck in the 500 block of Arch Street in Williamsport during the early morning hours of March 8, Mark Edward Kimble Jr. “chased down two whitetail deer with his vehicle and killed one of them,” state Game Warden Benjamin Fromm II alleged in an affidavit. Kimble, 19, of 320 Schoolhouse Road, “caught up with one of the deer, intentionally and maliciously ran over it, breaking its legs and neck, eventually killing it.” the warden wrote in the court document.

“It is unlawful to operate any vehicle for killing, taking or attempting to kill any big game or wildlife by using the rays of any artificial light,” Fromm said. Kimble faces misdemeanor charges of unlawful killing of big game, unlawful use of lights while hunting plus four summary violations. “This is Kimble’s second or third violation of unlawful killing or taking of big game in a seven-year period,” the warden said. Following his arraignment before District Judge Christian Frey, Kimble, who has waived his preliminary hearing was initially jailed in lieu of $50,000

Williamsport area patient charged with allegedly assaulting nurse

Tamara Boyles, 57, of 1715 Lycoming Creek Road, apartment 3, has been charged with aggravated and simple assault as well as disorderly conduct after she spat in the eyes of a nurse while undergoing treatment at UPMC Williamsport on May 28, a hospital police officer alleged in an affidavit filed at the office of District Judge Aaron Niichle. Following her arraignment last week, Boyles was released on $25,000 bail.

Two neighbors charged with simple assault

Tammy-Lynn Vanbuskirk, 26, and Ashley Cagle, 39, both of whom live in the same trailer court at 3605 Lycoming Creek Road, face charges of simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment after they both got into a skirmish at the trailer court on April 27, according to Lycoming Regional police. Cagle shoved Vanbuskirk, prompting Vanbuskirk to strike her in the nose with her fist, police alleged in an affidavit. Both women have waived their preliminary hearings and are free on $5,000 bail each.

City man jailed following domestic disturbance

Garrett McCloskey, 28, 829 Fourth Ave., has been locked up on charges of felony strangulation, simple assault and harassment for allegedly assaulting a woman during a domestic disturbance in a South Williamsport home in the 1800 block of Whitford Avenue on the morning of May 31, borough police alleged in court documents. Arraigned hours later before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, McCloskey was jailed in lieu of $35,000 bail. He has since waived his preliminary hearing.

Convicted sex offender faces new felony charges

As a Megan’s Law Tier II convicted sex offender, Donald Lee Levelle Jr., 39, formerly of Williamsport, is required by law to notify state police of any changes in his address and employment status within a matter of three days, but city police allege Levelle failed to comply and reported falsely that he was living in the 700 block of Rose Street since late 2021 when in fact he never “actually lived” there, it was stated in an affidavit. Levelle, now living with his fiancee in Bostic, North Carolina, faces three felony counts each of failure to provide accurate information, failure to register with the state police and failure to verify his address, according to city police. Initially jailed in lieu of $15,000 bail, Levelle has since waived his preliminary hearing before District Judge Christian Frey and is now free on $15,000 bail.
