Motorist charged after police chase with stolen car in Clinton Township

During a high-speed chase with Muncy and state police in a stolen 2019 Ford Fusion on the afternoon of May 27, Kiyair Smith lost control of the car and plowed into dumpsters in the Sunoco parking lot at routes 15 and 54 in Clinton Township, it was alleged in an affidavit. Smith, 26, of Philadelphia, jumped out of the vehicle and bolted into the woods, but he was soon nabbed thanks to the help of a police tracking dog named Enzo. After being treated at UPMC Williamsport, Smith was arraigned before District Judge Ryan Gardner on Muncy police felony charges of receiving stolen property, fleeing police as well as evading arrest or detention on foot, a misdemeanor, plus three summary offenses. He has since waived his preliminary hearing and remains behind bars in lieu of $150,000 bail. The fusion was stolen from New Jersey, police said.

Starting at $2.99/week.
