Man who spent months on the run from Harrisburg police captured in Williamsport

After jumping from the roof of a home in the 1200 block of Cherry Street on Thursday afternoon, a 25-year-old man zig-zagged his way through some yards in a futile attempt to avoid capture, according to city police. Once detained, the man continued to struggle with officers, one of whom was forced to deploy a taser, police said. The man, whose identity was expected to be released today, was initially taken to police headquarters and then to UPMC Williamsport to be evaluated. In the photo, the man, seen on a stretcher with his back to the camera, is about to be loaded into an ambulance at the police station. The fugitive, wanted by Harrisburg police for felony fleeing, has eluded capture for several months, police said.
