Former Walmart employee charged with theft

While employed as a cashier at Walmart in Montoursville last December and January, Alyssa Kay Mitchell stole an estimated $230 from the department store, borough police alleged in an affidavit. Police allege she stole the cash – in amounts ranging from $10 to $40 – on 11 occasions. Following her recent arraignment before District Judge Denise Dieter on a misdemeanor theft charge, Mitchell, 27, of 645 Campbell St., was released on $15,000 bail.
