Columbia County Prison inmate Bautista Lee Bonett, a convicted sex offender since 1991, has been charged by state police with failure to register his new address with them when he moved to the 6900 block of Route 15 in Clinton Township in mid-February, according to an affidavit filed at the office of District Judge Kirsten Gardner. Incarcerated on another criminal matter, Bonett, 61, was convicted of rape in 1991, the affidavit stated. Investigators stated Bonett still carried an address of Shickshinny, Luzerne County, even though he moved to Lycoming County several months ago. Following a recent preliminary hearing, Bonett, who also goes by Bautista Beers, was held for court on the felony charge and remains jailed in lieu of additional $35,000 bail.
