Power outage occurs in parts of Newberry and Old Lycoming

Parts of Newberry and Old Lycoming Township were without power much of overnight Friday after two powerlines came down in the area of Prospect Avenue and Newberry Street about 11:50 p.m Friday., city fire officials said. The powerlines landed on two parked cars, setting both vehicles on fire, officials said. There were no reports of injuries. A PPL crew responded, restoring service to customers by 8 a.m Saturday, officials added.
