Lee Matthew Winters, 30, and his fiancee, Janelle Bertin, 53, were taken into custody Tuesday afternoon at their Jersey Shore home at 117 N. Williamsport man allegedly assaulted 4-year-old child

Joseph Winfield, 42, of 2500 Federal Ave., apartment 276, has been jailed on high bail for brutally assaulting a 4-year-old child on two occasions in his apartment, city police alleged in an affidavit filed at the office of District Judge Christian Frey. As the child screamed and cried, Winfield first struck him and then proceeded to punch him seven times last Christmas Eve, police alleged. Charges filed after gun-pointing incident in Williamsport

Roland Alexander Zerbe, 30, of 820 Fifth Ave., has been locked up on charges of allegedly pointing a handgun at another man during a disturbance in the 800 block of Fourth Avenue about 12:20 a.m. Friday, city police said. Following his arraignment before District Judge William Solomon on charges of recklessly endangering another person, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault and person prohibited from possessing a firearm, Zerbe was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.

Williamsport teen accused of intimidating confidential informant

Kaden Zackery Deshong, 18, of 120 E. Fourth St., Williamsport, has been charged with intimidation of a witness, terroristic threats and illegal use of a cellphone after sending threatening and intimidating text messages to a confidential informant in Williamsport on Feb. 6, it was alleged in an affidavit filed by the county’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit. Following his arraignment before District Judge Aaron Biichle, Deshong, who has since waived his preliminary hearing, was initially jailed, but is now free on $15,000 bail.
