Day of Worship seeks to bring together all faiths through music at Fairlawn Community Church
All children of God are invited to attend A Day of Worship to be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, at the Fairlawn Community Church, 353 Pleasant Hill Road, Cogan Station.
“There is no preaching. It’s strictly music and worship,” the press release said.
Featured acts at the event will include Agape Worship, Jennifer Henne, CrossFyre, Minister Dawn Gueary, Kingdom Voices and Fairlawn Worship.
The goal of the event is to “bring the body of Christ together in unity and harmony, breaking denominational barriers and division that hinder the work of God’s kingdom, that in Unity, we would be an example of Christ’s love to this city and the world, accomplishing His will and the earth,” the event’s mission statement said.
“Because there’s so many religious affiliations, there can be division, but God just wants us all to come together, be in unity and celebrate that we’re believers in Jesus Christ, and we worship Him,” the release said.
This will be the fourth year for the Day of Worship, which is held twice a year, each time at a different church to maximize its across the board appeal to people of all faiths.
“We’re trying to cover all different denominations because the whole purpose is to try to bring us together in unity,” the release said.
A kitchen and dining area will be available for anyone wishing to bring a lunch or snack.
“‘Day of Worship'” brings together a variety of worship styles from across the community of Believers in Christ,” said Pastor Jeff O’Neill, of Eagle Mountain Word of Faith Church, who previously opened their doors to the event, in the release.
“It was heart-warming to experience so many Believers in love with God and encouraging one another to continue pursuing the unity of the faith. Our hearts are filled with God’s presence and it becomes evident that He is not limited to one church and one way of Worship,” he said.
Churches that have previously hosted the Day of Worship include Agape Fellowship, Greenview Alliance Church and Northway Community Church.
