Fu-Lin Little League of Taipei City, Chinese Taipei, was the Asia-Pacific Region’s representative to the 2022 Little League Baseball World Series. Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) has not represented the Asia-Pacific Region since 2015. This year the Chinese Taipei team defeated the South Korean team, thus earning its Asia-Pacific regional berth in the Little League World Series. “It’s great for the Fu-Lin Elementary School kids to represent the Asia-Pacific region,” Dr. Grace Shu said. “They have demonstrated hard work, dedication, and sportsmanship, which are skills and characteristics that will serve them well for the rest of their lives.” Representatives from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Offices in New York and Washington, D.C. — including Ambassador James Lee, Deputy Director Chang Junyu, Education Director Yang Minling, Deputy Political Director Liu Fuyuan, Overseas Chinese Affairs Director Chen Yongfeng and Deputy Director Lin Weiting; Deputy Representative Robin Cheng and Secretary Huang Ziyang — visited the 2022 Little League World Series to cheer the team on.
