LINDEN -- Second generation, family owned barbeque joint, Henry's Bar-B-Q, located off of Route 220 in Linden, has their dining room open waiting for customers to come back and enjoy their "unique Carolina style" barbeque seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Dale Robinson Jr., owner, has run the business since purchasing it from his mother in 2008.
The business originally started in the late 1930's by John Henry and later passed down to other owners before it was bought by Robinson's family in 1966.
Today, Robinson even gets help from the business' third generation, his daughters who are in elementary and middle school.
His nine-year-old even helped him through the COVID-19 dining room closures.
"It was a challenging couple of months…the whole year and a half has been challenging," Robinson said.
Not only did the business have to deal with dining room closures but also the ongoing construction on the highway.
He even added that the business had not been a huge-take out business before the closures, and still remains to sell take-out to many of his "loyal customers", but now things are "looking up".
Locals come in multiple days a week to veg out on their favorite sandwiches, "well-known" chili, coffees and desserts.
A local couple, Jim and Stella, came in during the interview to order their regular coffees and sandwiches.
Robinson added that the menu has expanded over the years, adding items such as pig wings, fried pig shanks, beer battered haddock, as well as sundaes, ice creams, pies and cookies.
"We buy local items," he added, saying that their rolls are from New Lycoming Bakery and his meats come from Economy Locker and Thompson Meats.
When Robinson and his family business have the time, they also help out local school sports events.
