A website is an essential part of an entity's brand these days, and Positive Medium has been refining the skill since the beginning of the internet.
Positive Medium builds and maintains fully customized websites for a wide range of customers including small businesses, non-profits, entertainers and public figures as well as startups, sole proprietors, and other budget-minded organizations. Although they specialize in websites, the company also offers search engine optimization, digital marketing, and advertising services.
For Chris Basham, founder of Positive Medium, building websites began as a hobby in the late 90's. "I've been interested in web design since the World Wide Web was in its infancy," Basham said.
Chris founded Positive Medium LLC in 2012 with his wife, Kristy, with the belief that every small business deserves affordable access to an online presence. Through creative design, professional coding, and hands-on digital marketing, our team can take your business to the next level.
"In today's technology-driven world, it is more important than ever that your customers have access to your business when needed," according to Positive Medium's mission. "Whether you are just starting out or are an established, prominent business, Positive Medium can help you. With our experienced team, we will walk you through the process of designing the perfect website for your brand."
Basham adapted with the ever-evolving tech industry, and gained notoriety in the entertainment industry for the sites he was building. In the early 2000's, Basham had created a fan-site for actress Drew Barrymore.
"It grew popular enough to get the attention of her management team," Basham said. "They hired us to create an official website for her."
After that connection was formed, Basham was able to create websites for other actors and musicians. They've since worked with over two dozen actors and musicians since that project.
"For the first few years, we almost exclusively created websites for the entertainment industry," Basham said. "However, for most of the 2010's, we had an exclusive contract with a New Jersey-based marketing agency who had us create websites for all of their clients."
As with every industry, the COVID-19 pandemic caused Positive Medium to shift focus. The business began marketing locally in the Williamsport area more directly.
"While the entertainment industry remains a significant portion of our business, our primary focus in recent years has been helping local businesses and organizations establish and improve their internet presence," Basham said.
Moving forward, the company would like to continue providing service to the area, and expand to hire full-time local staff.
Positive Medium is a family-owned business including Chris, his wife Kristy, and their first-born, Aaron. "We also have contracts with a number of designers, developers, and marketing specialists.
