Thairapy on Broad may be a relatively new business, but as owner and operator Danielle Belle, tells it the salon is helmed by a well experienced crew.
Opened in March 2025, Thairapy on Broad, 346 Broad St., Montoursville, brings together the talents of its four stylists to offer a combined 62 years of work in the industry.
“We all met at different times in our lives. One being a family friend, another was a coworker while we were young waitresses together and the other, I met at another salon,” Belle said in an email to the Sun-Gazette.
“We ended up all coming together and working for 13 years under another name. Then one day decided it was just time to go out on our own,” she said.
“After 16 years in the industry, I decided it was time to establish our own welcoming space that embodies positive energy, comfort, and relaxation,” the mother of four writes on Thairapy’s website.
“As a fitness trainer and mom of two, I’m passionate about inspiring others to reach their full potential,” said stylist of 13 years, Brooke Sechrist in her bio on the website.
“My clients’ dream hair is my top priority, and I’m dedicated to delivering exceptional results in every aspect of my work,” she said.
Williamsport native Amber Evano began working with hair in 2005, following a stint in the U.S. Navy, according to her online bio.
“While I enjoy various aspects of the beauty industry, my specialties include highlighting, coloring, and styling short, sassy haircuts,” Evano, a licensed cosmetologist and instructor said on the salon’s website.
With 13 years in the business, Cailyn Mussare strives “to make my clients feel comfortable, pampered, and confident,” she said in her online bio.
“I love doing color services, specifically balayage! As a mom of two little boys, my patience and kindness shines through into my work,” she said.
In addition to the required trainings and certification required for their line of work, all four have participated in continued education courses, Belle told the Sun-Gazette in an email.
For Belle, opening her own salon has always been a dream she’s held.
“My main goal when starting my own business was to provide a relaxing and positive atmosphere for people to enjoy,” she said.
Doing so has created a mutually beneficial dynamic for her clients as well as Belle and her co-workers.
“Along with myself and employees, we also wanted to maintain a level of comfort with our personal lives. Working while raising children can become chaotic, but here at Thairapy on Broad we all have the flexibility to do our job but also be present at home,” she said.
The salon offers a broad range of services, including eyebrow, lip, chin waxing, also available as a combo, half-head, full-head and spiral perms, as well as blowouts, updos, olaplex and toner, along with traditional men’s, women’s and children’s cuts.
“I would say our most common service is hair color. Whether it be one color all over, highlights or a blend of the two, I believe our years of experience has made us extremely knowledgeable in this field,” Bell told the Sun-Gazette in an email.
The dynamic of friends working together to help boost the confidence of their clients is a key draw for the salon, Belle said.
“I think what sets us apart the most is our energy,” she told the Sun-Gazette in an email.
“We are continually told how good we make people feel. There’s been times we’ve cried with clients, laughed so hard we’d have to take a break and times we’ve cheered for our clients when they’re celebrating a life changing accomplishment, like marriage, graduation or a new job,” she said.
“I really think it’s just the positive and comfortable atmosphere we provide for our clients to be themselves,” Belle said.
