The 16-year-old city boy who was shot and killed early Tuesday morning in the 900 block of Market Street was identified as Ayliem Coleman, Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. said Wednesday night.
An autopsy performed Wednesday morning at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown determined Coleman died of a "gunshot wound to the chest," Kiessling said.
No arrest has been made in the homicide that occurred about 1:30 a.m. when neighbors reported hearing upwards of a half a dozen or more gunshots in rapid succession. Coleman was pronounced dead at the scene.
One neighbor heard a car speed away while another saw someone running north and then west down an alley right after the shooting.
City police were not disclosing any information about how their investigation into the killing was going.
Police are also trying to find the gunmen who shot a 19-year-old male in the 600 block of Maple Street about 2:20 a.m. on July 17 and a 17-year-old male in the 1100 block of Almond Street about 9:40 p.m. Sunday.
It was unknown if any of the three shootings were at all related.
No descriptive details of possible suspects have been made public.
The motive for any of the shootings also remained shrouded in mystery Wednesday night.
