Commissioners approve extension for Muncy plan

Lycoming County commissioners approved an amendment to an agreement with Tetra Tech Inc. to extend the Muncy Resiliency Plan project during their meeting Thursday.

The six-month extension comes at no extra cost to the county.

The county, Muncy Borough and Muncy Creek Township are collaborating on the plan to identify projects that help the community withstand and rebound from threats and challenges, including flooding.

Most recently, the county became the recipient of the national Excellence in Mitigation Innovation Award for its part in the Resiliency Plan.

The award will be presented at the March 2020 Hazard Mitigation Partners Workshop in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

In other matters, commissioners approved Michael J. Weymer as a correctional counselor in the county prison at an hourly wage of $22.97.

Commissioners will not hold public meetings next week.

Their next meeting is 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 10, at Executive Plaza, 330 Pine St.
