LH mayor declares state of emergency

LOCK HAVEN — Lock Haven City Mayor Joel Long has declared a state of emergency for the city through April 5.

It will not affect private businesses, only city operations, he said.

The declaration comes only days after council canceled its regular meeting Monday night and shut down city hall and the Second Avenue public works garage to the public.

Long also said those gathering or playing at city-owned park or recreation facility must limit their group to less than 10 individuals until further notice and all meetings of city authorities, boards, commissions and committees are canceled.

The declaration lists the city manager, directors of community life, permits and licenses and public works, finance office manager, GIS technician, human resource specialist and planner and development coordinator as essential staff to work from home or maintain a minimum of six feet of social distancing while at city hall.
