Supervisors OK pollution reduction plan with contractor
The Loyalsock Township supervisors met in person on Tuesday to update and approve a Chesapeake Bay pollution reduction plan, approve conditional use public hearings for their next meeting and to approve the hire of new summer employees.
Bill Burdett, township manager updated supervisors on their stormwater plan and contract with HRG, including an amendment on their original pollution reduction plan.
Originally, the township wanted to create this plan with Larson Design Group but there were items within the plan that caused risk to the township including a large upkeep of banks and the plan needed amended to be approved by the state Department of Environmental Protection.
The $23,370 revised plan with HRG was unanimously approved and will include a variety of stormwater management projects to decrease pollutants streaming into the Chesapeake Bay.
The supervisors approved a public hearing for Lydia Hall on Northway Road for conditional use for a daycare for children on July 14 at 7 p.m. In addition, a pet grooming home occupation at 1184 Russell Ave., conditional use public hearing was also approved for July 14 at 7:10 p.m.
Furthermore, the township hired the following employees at the following rates for the township pool:
• Anna Burdett, office and concession, $7.91
• Abbie Machmer, office and concession, $7.46
• Benjamin Manetta, $7.25 for lifeguarding, $7.35 for lessons
• Logan Hall, $7.25 for lifeguarding, $7.35 for lessons
• Mallory Pardoe, $7.25 for lifeguarding, $7.35 for lessons
• Laila Robinson, $7.25 for lifeguarding, $7.35 for lessons
In other planning commission business, the supervisors also approved a one lot subdivision on Lycoming Creek Road to sell an existing property on the land near Rustler’s Towing. The building meets all of the set back requirements and was recommended approval.
Supervisors also approved the following sales via Municibid:

• Manhole visors, $76.05
• Sewer fogger, $630
• Solar area light, $127.27
• Old speed sign, $300
• Sprayer, $975
• Manhole lifter, $525
Lastly, the supervisors also approved to refund six individuals who paid taxes and did not owe. The total amount is $240.
The next Loyalsock Township meeting will be held Tuesday, July 14, at 7:30 p.m. at the township building on East Third Street.
