White Deer staff reportedly test positive for COVID-19
Staff members have tested positive for COVID-19 at White Deer Run of Williamsport, 901 Westminster Drive, according to an administrative assistant there, though CEO Jeff Thomas said the company would not comment on positive staff members due to privacy concerns.
“We do not have any statement on that at this time,” he said. “We cannot report any confirmed or not confirmed cases. There are regulations on what can and cannot be reported about staff members.”
However, he did say that there are currently no positive cases among the center’s patients, who come in for “partial hospitalization” outpatient drug and alcohol treatment.
“Addiction right now continues to take the lives of people in Pennsylvania,” Thomas added. “And we have been asked to remain open to provide treatment for those in need.”
Thomas also noted that White Deer’s protocols include a complete policy around COVID testing, management, disinfection and patient management.
“We have been in contact with the state Department of Health and (are) following the directions provided by them,” he said. “We are doing the same things that the hospitals are doing around the country.”
Protocols that take place at White Deer Run include social distancing, universal masking, hand-washing and sanitizing and more.
