Airport Authority acts on infrastructure matters
The Williamsport Municipal Airport Authority took care of infrastructure-related business and other matters at its monthly meeting Thursday.
The board approved a $65,499 payment for pavement work of the apron project.
Airport Executive Director Richard Howell reported the work by DGR Excavating LLC is mostly done.
An agreement with LR Kimball for rehabilitation of the taxiway lighting was approved. That work is expected to get under way in the spring.
The Authority approved an agreement with Beeghley Tree to remove trees at the end of a runway.
The trees create an obstruction for certain aircraft, authority members explained.
Howell reported that the federal CARES Act funding received by the airport at the end of January is at about $2 million.
In personnel matters, the following board members were appointed to committees:
• Personnel/HR Committee – Chris Logue, Frank Pellegrino, and William Martin.
• Lease/Finance/Insurance Committee – Steve Logue, Mike Reed, and Frank Pellegrino.
• Planning, Building, Field Security Committee – Trisha Marty, Mike Reed, Chris Logue
• Marketing/Community Outreach, Garth Everett, William Martin, Trisha Marty, Steve Logue.
The board met in executive session to consider legal matters.
