Planners approve land development plan

The Lycoming County Planning Commission gave approval with conditions for a land development plan by LBM Properties in Muncy Township

Plans call for building an addition onto the north side of the former Gander Mountain building near the Lycoming Mall to accommodate office space and an entrance for a light manufacturing facility, according to Joshua Billings, county subdivision and land development administrator.

The county zoning hearing board had granted special exception for light manufacturing use in October.

In other matters, the Commission approving rehiring Michael Wiley as solicitor.

Wiley has served in that capacity for the past several years.

The Commission considered a Request for Proposals to ask others to apply for the job.

However, after some discussion it was agreed Wiley has done a good job as solicitor and to retain him.

“If you have a land problem in the county you call Mike Wiley,” board member Carl Nolan said. “I don’t think we’ll get anyone better.”

Board member Jason Bogle reported that an ad hoc committee has met several times to go over revision of Commission bylaws.

The next Commission meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, March 18.
