Police searching for information related to shooting
City police are seeking information related to a shooting that occurred at 9:10 p.m. Thursday evening in the area of Louisa Street, according to a recent press release.
According to city police, an unknown gunman shot a juvenile in the “lower extremities.”
A police officer said the wound was on the upper thigh, and that a tourniquet had been applied to stymie the bleeding.
At the scene, witnesses told authorities the gunman, who has yet to be found, allegedly kicked in the door of a residence on the 1500 block of Louisa Street and shot the victim.
EMS later transported the child to UPMC Williamsport for treatment.
City officers, with help from Old Lycoming Township police and state police, were able to use a K-9 unit to track the alleged assailant’s path to the area of Mount Carmel before losing it.
