County OKs plans for Chick-fil-A and Starbucks in Muncy Township

By Mike Reuther 1 min read

The Lycoming County Planning Commission on Thursday approved a development plan to clear the way for construction of a Starbucks and Chick-fil-A restaurant in Muncy Township.

The two business will locate on approximately 7,000-square feet at the Lycoming Crossing property.

Each business will maintain its own parking areas at the site along Lycoming Mall Road, according to Josh Billings, subdivision and land development administrator.

Township supervisors approved the plan earlier this year.

Other development in the area is to include an Old Navy clothing store further north on Lycoming Mall Road near Target.

Planners approved land development plans for a communications tower in Piatt Township.

The 250-foot tower, to be erected on the Dean Edwards property, includes plans for erecting a building at the pad site for equipment storage.

Planners also gave approval to a building addition at the Cogan House Township municipal property site.

In other matters, it was reported that bylaws for the planning commission will be ready for first reading approval by the board next month.

The bylaws are to help formulate strategic planning.

In recent months, an ad hoc committee of the planning commission has been reviewing and revising the bylaws.
