Committee gives positive nod to solicitor for zoning
City Council’s finance committee Tuesday gave a positive recommendation to hire a seasoned city attorney to serve as solicitor of the city zoning hearing board.
Attorney Fred Holland received positive recommendation to provide legal services for the city zoning hearing board as its solicitor.
The zoning hearing board pursued Holland following resignation of Joseph Musto, former solicitor, said Gary Knarr, city zoning officer/administrator.
Holland said he has been an attorney in city for about 40 years. He said he would be honored to become Musto’s successor if so chosen.
“We won’t know the amount of compensation,” Councilwoman Liz Miele said.
The option was made to lock in Holland for five years but Holland said he would not hold the city to that should anything change.
