Williamsport event to showcase area offerings for outdoor enthusiasts

Williamsport Business Association is holding it's inaugural "Get Outdoors" event on Saturday, said Beth Armanda, association president.
Get Outdoors is the association's first recreational focused event, she said.
"Our goal is to promote nature-based tourism and showcase nonprofits and businesses that foster an active lifestyle," Armanda said.
"We want to help build community by showing people how accessible our wonderful local resources are," Armanda said.
The event is expected to connect people to the businesses providing services and knowledge about the parks, trails and waterways in our region, she said.
"We want to provide a safe and fun way to spend our summer outdoors while keeping our dollars local," she said.
There will be live music, kids activities, vendors, nonprofits and businesses.
Guests can try out bikes and outdoor gear, see product demonstrations, gather information on local outdoor recreation and active lifestyle related businesses, clubs and organizations.
Free for all who attend, the activities will be on Pine Street from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
