Salaries OK’d for South Williamsport police chief, assistant chief
South Williamsport Borough Council this week approved contracts for its police chief and assistant police chief.
As chief, Daniel Embeck will receive $80,000 a year and Norm Hager, assistant chief, will receive $60,000 annually.
Embeck brings over 21 years of experience, retiring as a corporal from the Milton Police Department where he also was a member of the SERT team and a criminal investigator.
Embeck is a firearms instructor, Taser instructor and field training officer.
He is also a Municipal Police Academy instructor at Mansfield University and president of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 52.
Hager was the interim officer in charge since 2020. He served in DuBoistown prior to assuming the new role.
The borough department serves South Williamsport and DuBoistown.
