Woodward Township supervisors announced the township's polling place has moved to the Woodward Township Volunteer Fire Company's fire hall for the 2021 General Election on Nov. 2.
The supervisors said the location was moved due to a lack of parking at the municipal building. The county board of elections put out notices to residences. Township staff will also post notices outside the municipal building.
The township supervisors also heard two public comments about pedestrian safety on Route 220 and road deterioration on Brown's Lane at their recent meeting.
"The number of people crossing is astronomical," Bill Fenderson, of Linden, said of Route 220.
Fenderson said two years ago he requested a walkway across the road, and was told it was not in the budget.
The concern stems from a perceived increase in vehicles striking pedestrians along the construction on Route 220, including one since the supervisors' previous meeting.
Bob Brown, also of Linden, said that the unpaved road at Brown's Lane has been deteriorating for years and has another low spot as it turns off Route 220.
While the township has patched it up several times over the years, Supervisor Joe Bertin said the township was going to eventually look into paving the road.
The Woodward Township supervisors will next meet Sept. 15 at 11 a.m. in the Woodward Township Municipal Building.
