An outreach meeting will be held at 6 p.m. today in order for the public to view the 2022 Lycoming County budget and ask any questions pertaining to it. The presentation will be held at the Trade & Transit Center, 144 W. Third St., in the Ross Room on the third floor.
The proposed budget does not include a tax increase, leaving the property tax millage rate at the current 6.5 mills, or $650 per $100,000 of assessed property value. However, the proposal also reflects a deficit of just under $27 million.
Copies of the proposed budget are available online at www.lyco.org and in person in the commissioners' and controller's offices in Executive Plaza, 330 Pine St., at the James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., and all other libraries within the county library system.
