New Golden Strip eateries under development
Restaurant row in Loyalsock Township is picking up steam, as township supervisors prepare to review further updates on three eateries’ developments.
This week, the supervisors postponed a land development review of plans by officials with Chipotle, 1955 E. Third St. and subdivision, which has submitted its plans that are under review for comments. That issue could be on the upcoming January meeting agenda.
Popeyes, meanwhile, is under construction at East Third Street and Russell Avenue and should be ready to open in the spring timeframe, said Bill Burdett, township manager.
Additionally, Crumbl Cookies has arrived in the small strip mall in front of Hobby Lobby, across the parking lot. A grand opening is scheduled for Jan. 21.
Texas Roadhouse officials announced intention of opening in March, but did not set a specific date. Supervisors and the township officials were not given or aware of any date the restaurant will open, Burdett said.
Texas Roadhouse specializes in hand-cut steaks, ribs, an assortment of salad, chicken, hamburgers and vegetable main and side dishes and is hiring full and part-time positions, said Kayla Dolan, a restaurant spokeswoman, who also did not indicate the date of opening in March.
Construction began at the former site of Ruby Tuesday last year and the 7,600-square-foot restaurant at 1940 E. Third St. is scheduled to open in March for dine-in and to-go orders, Dolan said.
The restaurant will be open for dinner only Monday through Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m., and Friday, 4 to 11 p.m. and for lunch and dinner Saturday, noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday noon to 10 p.m.
Texas Roadhouse is based in Louisville, Kentucky, and opened its doors in 1993. It has more than 610 locations in 49 states and 10 foreign countries.
