The Easter Bunny is on its way and will be visiting the Williamsport area.
Local establishments will be holding Easter egg hunts and other festive activities starting at the beginning of April.
The City of Williamsport will hold its annual event at Brandon Park at 2 p.m. April 2. The event is open to all children ages 1 through 10 years old.
"This event is a great time for the children and a wonderful start to your Easter celebration. There will be candy-filled eggs and special prizes. The only thing we ask is for participants to bring their own basket or bag," stated a press release from the city.
There will be five divisions of age groups for the hunt: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10.
The Easter Bunny also will make an appearance at the event, and will be available for photos.
"No Easter celebration would be complete without a visit from the Easter bunny with plenty of photo opportunities! So, bring your children, grandchildren, and friends," city officials said in a press release.
There will be other Easter Festivities in the area, including Breakfast with The Easter Bunny, put on by the Lycoming County Alzheimer's Association.
The event begins Saturday, April 2 at 8 a.m. and will continue until noon.
"I am really excited about it because it's the first time we've done something outside of our walk -- the money goes to benefit Alzheimer's research. Enjoy a good breakfast, see The Easter Bunny and have fun" said Dori Rankinen, member of The Lycoming County Alzheimer's Association.
Families and others interested in the event are encouraged to buy their tickets ahead of time.
"Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for kids. Tickets are available at the door, but we encourage them to buy tickets ahead of time. There will be pancakes, scrambled eggs, sauces, Easter Bunny, green screen for picture taking," Rankinen said.
Those interested in buying tickets can call Dori Rankinen at 570-772-2423. Tickets are also available for purchase at Roche Financial Services in Williamsport.
The Hughesville Rotary will also be hosting an egg hunt.
"Rotary is excited to bring back our annual Easter Egg Hunt after two years off. This year's event will be bigger and better with the new location at the Lycoming County Fairgrounds," said Mike Bieber of the Hughesville Rotary.

• Easter egg hunt, 10 a.m. rain or shine, Faith Church, 700 Fairview Drive, Montoursville
• Easter egg Hunt, 10 a.m. Sunbury Bible Church Sports Complex, Route 11, north of Northumberland
• 2022 NCC Easter egg hunt, 10:45 a.m., Northway Community Church, 1680 Four Mile Drive, Loyalsock Township
