The First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania partnered with Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships will be hosting the annual Raise the Region fundraiser on March 9 from 6 p.m. to March 10 at 11:59 p.m.

Raise the Region, which first began back in 2013, is designed to help raise funds for local nonprofit organizations.

Collectively, the annual fundraiser has received $12.3 million in donations, which has been used to benefit local organizations. More than $2 million was donated to 272 nonprofits during the 2021 event.

According to information from FCFP, this program is designed to help kickoff the 2022 fundraising efforts for local nonprofits through the generosity of sponsors and members of the community.

Event participation is available to 501c3 organizations that serve residents in Columbia, Lycoming, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Tioga or Union counties.

For this year's event, Blaise Alexander Family Dealerships has donated $170,000. Those funds will be used to stretch every donation made to pre-registered nonprofits.

There will be additional monetary prizes and incentives which will be awarded to participating nonprofits, according to the foundation.

The sponsors for those prizes include First Citizens Community Bank, Larson Design Group, Subaru, Toyota Motor Corporation, Pennsylvania Skill by Miele Manufacturing, UPMC, Weis Markets and AutoTrader.

The public is encouraged to visit the Raise the Region website to select participating nonprofits to support.

Donations will be stretched by the matching contribution from the Blaise Alexander group, according to the foundation.

Donations can also help raise additional support for the nonprofits selected by qualifying them for monetary prizes. All gifts are tax deductible and help to make the nonprofits' mission possible, according to the foundation.
