The Williamsport Municipal Water Authority contractor Ronca is finishing up base repairs and tree line restoration in the Roderick Road, Cliffside Drive and Selkirk Road area of the city in preparation for milling and paving work, a city public works official said.
Ronca will be in another municipality for a few weeks and then return to Williamsport to continue water authority projects, said David Columbine, the public works excavation inspector.
Several projects are slated for this year for Ronca, he said.
Meanwhile, Big Rock Paving has milled and paved the Tucker Street project, which was a UGI item.
Areas paved include parts of Sheridan Street, Catherine Street, Sherman Street, Meade Street, Tucker Street, Hadtner Street and Chestnut Street.
UGI does not have upcoming main projects slated for the city.
Their contractor Kiely is in another municipality.
Jon Sander, city engineer, said the city approval to hire Bassett Engineering as street inspector has been a godsend.
Sander said the engineering firm can concentrate on the street reconstruction work while he is able to manage the many engineering-related projects, including upcoming work on the levee, pump stations, Grafius Run and streetscape in Old City.
