Summer is here, and community pools are getting ready to open for the season.

A number of local pools are offering open swim hours, adult swim hours as well as additional services such as swimming lessons and scuba lessons.

Splash Cove Pool at Memorial Park in Williamsport is one of the area pools that is getting prepared to open.

The pool, which has been undergoing repairs since spring of 2021, is finally in its final stages of renovations.

“The crew is here. They’re starting now on patching and installation of the new pool liner. …This is all contingent upon (the) weather. They are here, we are looking forward to the pool opening,” Mayor Derek Slaughter said in a video on the Sun-Gazette’s Facebook page.

As of now, there is no set date for the official opening of Memorial Park pool.

“They are getting this pool liner installed as quickly as they can. I ask the public to bear with us for just a little bit longer here until we can get the pool liner installed, patched up, and get water in the pool,” Slaughter said.

The pool has also had other upgrades during the renovation project.

“We did new electrical work throughout. All new LED lights, all new electricity — our public works did that. We saved somewhere in the neighborhood of $20,000,” Slaughter said.

Jersey Shore Pool is now open for the season. They are open daily from noon to 6 p.m. with adult swim and “mommy and me” swim from 11 a.m. to noon.

“I am really excited,” said Bonnie Messersmith, Jersey Shore Pool Manager. “We’ve been overwhelmingly successful with people booking pool parties. We are excited to be open seven days a week. We just have to have mother nature corporate and give us some nice weather for swimming. Come out and enjoy and support the community pool.”

Jersey Shore Pool will also have events throughout the summer, such as the Christmas in July event on July 22 and National Night Out event on Aug. 2, an event with free activities for the community.

Loyalsock Pool, The Muncy Pool and have also both opened their doors for the season.

Loyalsock Pool opened full time on June 10. Their hours are Monday through Thursday from 1 to 7:45 p.m., Friday through Sunday from 1 through 6:45 p.m. with adult swim daily from noon to 1 p.m.

They will be offering swim lessons and scuba lessons
