A South Williamsport man who took part in the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol building has died.

Mark R. Aungst, who was to be sentenced in September on the charges related to taking part in the riot, is dead, Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. confirmed Thursday.

Aungst traveled on a bus to the rally for President Donald J. Trump with Tammy Bronsburg, of Williamsport, who pleaded guilty to the riot-related charges. She is scheduled to be sentenced in September in U.S. District of Columbia Court.
