Bail denied for Williamsport man after alleged threats to Central Elementary School

After being served a protection from abuse order, Joshua Francis Orso told a family member he would "go down in a blaze of glory" if police interfered with him taking his two children out of Central Elementary School in South Williamsport, according to an affidavit.
Orso, 35, of 53 Grampian Blvd., made the alleged threatening remarks late Wednesday morning, prompting the South Williamsport School District "to lock the district down, disrupting the normal course of operations until Orso's whereabouts were known," court documents stated.
A family member notified the authorities that Orso had been served his protection from abuse order Wednesday morning, but had not yet turned in his firearms.
The relative also stated to police that Orso was en route to the school from his place of employment to pick up his children. The family member claimed that Orso was "armed," and the family member "could not talk him down," according to the affidavit.
Police said both of Orso's children are "protected parties" in the protection from abuse order.
"With the assistance of state police, and multiple county agencies, Orso was located at his job site and taken into custody without incident for violating the protection order," police said.
After having been served the protection order, which was filed by his wife, Orso contacted her "at her work and stated she had until 3 p.m. to cancel it or he would come to her work place and put a bullet in her head if she kept his children from him," court records stated.
The protection order prohibits Orso, "having contact with his wife and their minor children," who were in class at the school.
At the arraignment, Orso told the judge, "I want to go to work and mind my business. I've suffered enough. I have anxiety."
Orso was arraigned before District Judge Denise Dieter on a felony charge of terroristic threats and placed in the Lycoming County Prison on no bail.
