JERSEY SHORE -- A man who robbed a teller at the Jersey Shore State Bank at 115 S. Main St. on Tuesday afternoon remains at large, according to Tiadaghton Valley Region police.
No one was injured in the holdup that occurred just before 3 p.m., police said.
The suspect, who was white, was wearing a yellow raincoat, a beige-colored fishing hat, an N95 mask, blue jeans and black sneakers, police said. No information on the suspect's height, weight or age was provided.
"He entered the bank, approached a teller and handed her a note" that demanded money, an officer at the scene said.
The teller complied, handing over an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. The robber then exited the bank and was last seen running south on Main Street, police said.
The bank is just a block away from the police station, where two officers were working on reports. Once police were notified, the officers bolted to the scene.
"We were there in less than 20 seconds," one officer said.
The bank remained closed for the day as investigators processed the scene and collected evidence, including video footage of the holdup.
A resident near Front Street, about four blocks south of the bank, reported hearing dogs making a lot of commotion near a large cornfield shortly after the holdup.
A police perimeter was set up around the field, and a drone was put up in the air, but there was no sighting of the suspect.
Police are asking for the public's help in proving any information they may have of the robbery.
"We're asking any resident on Front Street, South Main Street and South Alley who has surveillance cameras to review their videos for the time from 2:30 to 3 p.m.," an officer said. Anyone who might have any helpful footage is asked to call police at 570-398-2146.
