With May 16’s primary election just under two months away, the list of candidates seeking to represent their party in the general election later this year has been announced.

During odd-number years, voters choose candidates for county and city officials, as well as judges and magisterial district judges.

Pennsylvania has a closed primary which means voters may only vote for those running in their party. The candidates who get the highest number of votes in the primary election go on to represent their party in the general election.

Local voters in the following precincts should be aware that their polling

places have changed to the new sites listed: Clinton Township and Montgomery Borough — Clinton Township Volunteer Fire Company, 2311 Route 54; Cummings Township — Cummings Township Building, 11119 N. Route 44; Loyalsock Township 7th Precinct — Saint Ann Catholic Church, 1305 Northway Road (temporary relocation for the May and November elections); and Pine Township — Pine Township Building, 925 Oregon Hill Road (temporary relocation for the May and November elections).
