State Rep. Jamie Flick, R-South Williamsport, announced $249,000 in grants have been awarded for long-term care facilities in Williamsport — including $246,000 for Rose View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and $3,000 for Presbyterian Senior Living.

“I am pleased to announce these grants,” said Flick, according to a news release. “This funding is very important for keeping our long-term care facilities well-staffed and of high quality for our senior residents.”

The grants come from a portion of Pennsylvania’s $14.2 million in federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention funding. According to the news release the grants are intended to help sustain quality care as the state’s population ages and residents’ needs change.

The grants were awarded through the Long-Term Care Quality Investment Pilot program, which was open to skilled nursing facilities, personal care homes, assisted living facilities and intermediate care facilities enrolled in a state’ quality improvement work initiative.

The news release said grant funding was awarded to applicants using a variety of factors, including the social vulnerability Index based on ZIP code level data and the number of Medicaid days or number of residents with Supplemental Security Income.
