A week after the Lycoming County Commissioners approved putting Executive Plaza on the market, commissioner Scott Metzger said there has been a lot of activity surrounding the sale of the property at 330 Pine St.
The county is asking $2.25 million for the property which houses some county offices which will then move to Third Street Plaza, which is also owned by the county.
Metzger stated that the commissioners wanted to get the word out so that "everyone that wants to tour this building and put in a proposal has the opportunity to do so."
"We'd ask that anyone interested in this building please contact Mya Toon from purchasing to arrange a tour," Metzger said.
Written proposals for the building must be in by May 4, and after that, the commissioners will start looking at the offers for the office building. A decision will be made after that, he said.
"We're excited so far about what we've heard. We look forward to maybe some more interest as we move forward with our plan to sell this building," he said.
Under personnel, the commissioners approved filling the following positions at the rates of pay listed: Elwood Hoover and Hunter Black, full-time new Maintenance II positions in facilities management, $20.80 per hour; Paul Nixon and George Metzger, part-time new positions as grounds crew mowers at Resource Management Services, $14 per hour; and David Burkhart, full-time replacement general accountant, $49,237 per year.
Other actions taken by the commissioners included approval of: a resolution for a $1 million Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program grant for the Old City Williamsport mixed-use development project; grant funds for Camp Cadet, $3,000; Lycoming County Library System, $1,346,007; and Lycoming County Industrial Development Authority, $3,000; a resolution to apply for a Department of Conservation and Natural Resources' grant totalling $2,271,921 for the Susquehanna River Walk extension trail development project; Client Agreement to assist with the management of the county's server and network infrastructure at a rate of $185 per hour; and a proposal submission and response to Mifflin and Juniata counties' request for proposal municipal waste disposal capacity solicitation so that the landfill can receive waste from those counties if necessary.
Two agreements and one renewal agreement through the Juvenile Probation Office were approved by the commissioners. They were with Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Services Inc., George Junior Republic and Crossroads Counseling Inc.
Metzger requested that a decision on grant funding for the airport in the amount of $56,000 be tabled until next week so that the commissioners can determine what it will be used for.
The next commissioners meeting will be at 10 a.m. April 13 at the commissioners board room, first floor Executive Plaza, 330 Pine St.
