The acting executive director of River Valley Transit Authority has been elevated to full-time executive director of the bus service.
Todd Wright was named executive director following a search by an Executive Director Search Committee, said Noah Bower, RVTA chairman.
"On behalf of the RVTA Board of Directors, and Endless Mountain Transit Authority (EMTA) Board of Directors, we are pleased to announce the elevation in employment status from Acting Executive Director to Executive Director for Mr. Todd Wright," Bower stated.
Wright has been chosen as the candidate to resume the executive director position and lead both EMTA and RVTA to new heights, Bower said.
Wright brings 16 years of service, while having served in the positions of special services manager, contract services manager, assistant executive director, and most recently acting executive director, he said.
Wright brings extensive transit knowledge and leadership skills that will allow him to prosper in his new position. He has high aspirations and goals to achieve while leading both EMTA and RVTA forward.
Wright will begin his tenure as executive director effective May 1. The last executive director served eight administrations until 2020.
Last July, the River Valley Transit became an authority operating as a separate entity from the city and with an independent board of directors, similar to the water and sanitary and parking authorities.
The bus service is one of north central Pennsylvania's largest providers of mass transit and continues to explore expansion.
