Homicide and other charges withdrawn against city woman

Homicide and related charges were withdrawn against a woman accused of luring a Philadelphia man to the 300 block of Williamsport where he was fatally shot in 2020.

The need to conduct a further investigation in light of new information is the reason Lycoming County First Assistant District Attorney Martin Wade gave for withdrawing the charges against Shakya Aiyona El, 21, of Williamsport on Friday, according to PennLive.com.

No one has been charged in the shooting of Amir Nobles, 27, but a suspect has been identified, he told the media source.

El was accused of luring Nobles to the 300 block of Bridge Street where he was ambushed, and conspiring with individuals who orchestrated and carried out the shooting.

She had been held without bail on charges of homicide, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, aggravated assault and criminal use of a communications device.

The further investigation by city police is expected to result in charges being filed against that individual and refiled against El, Wade told PennLive.
