The cause of the early-morning fire that damaged the dental office of Dr. Scott Martin at 818 W. Third St. on June 9 will likely remain undetermined, according to city Fire Chief Sam Aungst. A trash hauler discovered the fire coming from a utility room at the back of the building about 5:20 a.m. It was brought under control in about 30 minutes. There is nothing suspicious about it, Aungst said.

Investigators have determined that another city fire, this one at 838 Tucker St. that caused $32,000 damage to Kenneth Mitstifer's family home on April 4, was suspected to be electrical in nature, Aungst said.

A small fire that was quickly extinguished at 218 Campbell St. about 11:45 p.m, on June 11 was sparked by a hoverboard, he said. No one was displaced or injured in this incident.

The investigation into a kitchen fire that damaged a man's family home at 1626 High St. on Jan. 26 is ongoing and remains "very active," August said, declining to elaborate. City police also are involved in the case.

Regarding another blaze in the region, Clinton Township Fire Chief Todd Winder said Sunday night that due to the extent of damage done to the home, the cause of the fire that destroyed the the house of Kristy Bonnell and her son Donald "Bubba" Bonnell on Snaurytown Road, off of Route 54, on April 13 will go undetermined.
