Mansfield man jailed after allegedly shooting at family on Route 15

Less than two hours after allegedly firing shots at a car with four Canadian family members in it on a Route 15 North off-ramp Wednesday, Brandon Mullins, 22, was taken into custody at his home, just west of Mansfield, according to Lycoming Regional Police.
Mullins is accused of firing multiple times at the car on the Beautys Run Road off ramp of the Route 15 northbound lanes in Old Lycoming Township about 2:45 p.m., Detective Justin Segura said.
The road rage incident actually started in the city, where Mullins became irate after he thought the Canadian driver, operating a Tesla, cut him off in the area of the Route 15 North spur, Segura said.
Mullins, driving a red 2016 Mazda CX5, then allegedly rammed the side of the Tesla as the two motorists continued north into Old Lycoming Township, Segura said.
The Canadian driver called 911 to report the crash as Mullins was traveling ahead of him, police said.
At the Beautys Run Road off ramp, Mullins started to pull over, leading the Canadian driver to believe he was stopping to exchange information with him, Segura said.
Instead, Mullins "displayed a firearm outside the driver's side window. He then fired multiple times, aiming back at the Tesla," the detective said in an affidavit.
No one was injured and the vehicle was not hit, police said. Mullins then got back on Route 15 North and sped away.
Police said they were told Mullins had been "in Lycoming County for a job interview."
The Canadian family was heading home from vacation, Segura said. Two minors were in the Tesla, he said.
Police obtained a search warrant for Mullins' vehicle that was at his house.
Police recovered a handgun in the Mazda, court records stated.
Following his arraignment before District Judge Aaron Biichle on charges of aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering and terroristic threats, Mullins was committed to the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $175,000 bail.
