A Montgomery man was killed by an alleged intoxicated driver in Union County Saturday afternoon, state police at Milton said.
Spencer Charles, 30, died when the car he was driving about 12:40 p.m. on Grand Valley Road in West Buffalo Township was struck by a pickup truck driven by Benjamin Martin, 35, of Mifflinburg, who Trooper Timothy Hummel said failed to negotiate a curve and entered the oncoming travel lane striking Charles’ car head on.
Charles was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger Wayne Kurtz, 34, of Mifflinburg was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening head injuries.
Martin was charged with homicide by motor vehicle while DUI, aggravated assault by motor vehicle and DUI controlled substances.
