Rep. Jamie Flick to host Republican Policy Committee hearing, Human Services Expo

State Rep. Jamie Flick R-South Williamsport, will be hosting a House Republican Policy Committee hearing, followed by a human services speaker series and expo, at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Thursday, Sept. 7.

The Policy Committee hearing is titled "Addressing the Mental Health Needs of Rural Communities."

This hearing begins at 10 a.m. and will be livestreamed online at www.pagoppolicy.com/livestreams.

Featured panelists include Keith Wagner, executive director, Lycoming-Clinton Joinder; Dr. Eric Briggs, superintendent of South Williamsport Area School District; and Matt Welickovitch, assistant district attorney for Lycoming County and certified recovery specialist.

Following the Policy Committee hearing, Flick will host a human services speaker series and question-and-answer session featuring Rob Labatch, president and CEO, Hope Enterprises; Taylor Falk, lead certified recovery specialist, West Branch Drug and Alcohol Abuse Commission; Misty Dion, executive director, Roads to Freedom Center for Independent Living; and Kelly Gordon and Michaela Detrick from the Northcentral PA Chapter of National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

The Human Services Expo is from 3 to 6 p.m. at the college's fieldhouse and will feature vendors, organizations, people and programs from the 83rd District providing health and human services and support to the local community. Vendors will share materials, provide information and be on hand to answer questions from visitors.
