Bloomsburg Fair celebrates 168 years starting Friday

The 168th Bloomsburg Fair will kick off this Friday with a preview from 2 to 10 p.m. and run through Sept. 30 at the Bloomsburg fair grounds.
Beginning Saturday, the fair will be open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. There will be a fee for parking and admission to the fair. Tickets for admission can be bought in advance through the Bloomsburg Fair website, bloomsburgfair.com.
Headlining acts at the Weis Grandstand include Brantley Gilbert with special guest Mike Ryan on Friday, the "I Love the 90s tour" featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, Kid N Play, Color Me Badd and Young MC on Saturday; Zach Williams with special guest Brennley Brown on Sunday; and Richard Marx with special guest STARSHIP, featuring Mickey Thomas, on Monday.

The Bloomsburg Fair has released a list of 506 vendors slated to be at the Bloomsburg Fair. The vendor's list includes popular merchandise vendors such as Avon, My Pillow, Scentsy, Tupperware and more.
There also will be a variety of food vendors. Some popular places to go when hungry include Mr Sticky Inc., Incredible Popcorn, Gunzey's Hot Sausage and Eat the Bowl.
There will also be multiple vendors selling classic fair foods such as apple dumplings, lemonade and orangeade and fried anything, from vegetables to Oreos.
"[There are] a lot of new vendors this year. Thirty-some new vendors from the Licorice Man to Deadman's Distillery with moonshine apparel and teachings in Keystone building A. There is also going to be a company doing mac and cheese on a stick as well as bologna sandwiches," said Bloomsburg Fair receptionist Hank Augustine.
There will be a section designated to rides and carnival games. There are ride vouchers currently on sale. For more ride information and to buy vouchers, see the Bloomsburg Fair website.
"Everyday Monday through Friday different high school marching bands will parade through and perform at the fair. And Oscar the Awesome Ostrich will be making his way around the fair giving kisses, accepting pats, and sneaking snacks," said Augustine.
Throughout the span of the Bloomsburg Fair, there will be free entertainment scheduled. For showtimes and acts, see the Bloomsburg Fair website. In a traditional fair manner, there will be a variety of agriculture and livestock on display. Throughout the week there will be animal showings.
Augustine said, "there will be the normal farm animals. We will also have the racing pigs, alpacas and petting zoo."
